Weekend trip to Copenhagen
The flights were booked on Thursday and Friday we went expectantly to Gardermoen. TAP Air Portugal’s route 513 to Copenhagen and Lisbon was the plane we were going to travel with.
We had a nice flight over Skagerrak before we landed in Copenhagen about a half an hour late due to restrictions in the airspace over Oslo.

After arrival to Copenhagen we quickly got our luggage and after a short taxi ride we are at the First Hotel Vesterbro. The hotel is a four star hotel located in the district of Vesterbro, not far from the main train station, Tivoli and Strøget. In other words, a very centrally located hotel.
Saturday we used the day to make us feel more familiar with the city. We walk around Strøget and enjoyed some good drinks at a sidewalk café.

Later in the day we visited Louis Tussaud’s Wax Museum. Here we “greeted” on a number of celebrities. The Danish royal family was well represented and our own king and queen were also made of wax. There were also George W. Bush, Vladimir Putin, Tony Blair and Boris Yeltsin to name a few. We also saw famous and dear adventures figures, and not least world-renowned artists and actors.
We ended the evening with a Globe Steak at The Globe. Better beef we have hardly ever been served. And with the ambiance of the restaurant and the wait staff’s good mood and winning creature made this a pleasant experience.

Sunday it was time to return home again. After a better breakfast at the hotel we took a taxi to Kastrup. Check in and security check went fast and we got some time to stroll around the airport. The plane was on route and the TP514 landed at Gardermoen at 1545. At Gardermoen we stayed a long time waiting for our luggage. We were familiar with the time of luggage handling at the airport, but this time we noticed it ourselves. The information boards contained no information about which belt our luggage would be loaded on. Instead, there was an announcement about this above the speaker system. And then it was just getting up and waiting for our luggage. The information screen at the luggage belt did not match at all. The baggage that came on the belt was from completely different aircraft than the monitor showed. We stayed for at least an hour before we got our suitcases.
From Gardermoen we took the airport train into town where we ended our trip with a pizza at Dolly Dimples.
