National Scout Jamboree at Skaugum in 1989

5th – 12th August 1989 18,500 scouts from home and abroad gathered to national scout jamboree on the fields to the crown prince at Skaugum and made them into a mud sea. Seldom had it rained that much in a summer week in Asker. I attended camp with my group, 1st Rauma Åndalsnes.

Bjørn Eidsvåg led both campfires and worship services. He was joined with A-ha and Mortimer and the Pancakes. Bjørn Eidsvåg was the man behind the camp song “There’s still time.”

The program also included a trip to Oslo. This was one of the highlights of the camp as well as patrol leader gathering at Holmenkollen.
