LA4O Field Day 2012
The audience had the opportunity to try operating a ham radio station on the air, a quiz and and to test out ARDF. Inside the museum Norwegian Radio Historical Association had set up a special exhibition of ancient ship radio receivers.
On Saturday there were a lot of visitors looking at Bygdøynes. Above our heads, it was a spectacular air show in conjunction with the Norwegian Military Air Force 100 year anniversary (click here for pictures from the air show). An air show, nice weather and amateur radio – can it get any better?
The Amateur Radio Field Day aims to promote the recruitment of new radio amateurs and strengthen cooperation between Norwegian radio amateurs. A Field Day also provides training in how to operate portable stations independent of the mains voltage from the public electricity grid and permanent antennas.
