LA4O Field Day 2010

The radio amateurs Field Day aims to promote recruitment of new radio amateurs and strengthen cooperation between Norwegian radio amateurs. A Field Day also provides training in portable operations regardless of power supply from the public power grid and permanent antennas.

The Oslo Group’s Field Day was this year hosted at Trollvann.

In addition to field radio operations on many modes, antenna setups and social gathering, there will be opportunities to try radio orientation (ARDF).

The Field Day event has also included a competition element between the participating groups. In addition to radio contacts, you get points for the activities and the media attention the group is capable of creating.

There was great attendance and good atmosphere during the event that lasted from Saturday morning to Sunday morning.

In addition to traditional arrangements with large tents, antenna setup and radio contacts, radio orientation (ARDF) also were an activity.

The social is important on a field day and in the evening there was a big communal dinner with barbecue food for the participants.
