Amateur Radio

In April 2015 NRRL Sambandstjenesten attended HarbourEx15. This exercise is the largest civilian exercise that is carried out in Norway.

In the first week of June Fagerstrand Scouts went on this year’s adventure. During the week, we should build our own rafts and sail 100 km on the Swedish river Klarälven. All fleets were APRS tracked so that parents and others who would follow us could see our positions on the map.

In the second weekend in March it was time for festival featuring World Cup in Holmenkollen. Among the thousands of volunteers were 13 radio amateurs from Oslo Group. The radio amateurs were responsible for tracking medical resources, communication network for the jumping competition and operation of  the healthcare communications center with a radio operator and a logger.

As last year my local ham radio group, Oslogruppen av NRRL, held our annual Field Day at the Norwegian Maritime Museum at Bygdøy.

Ham Radio fair in Friedrichshafen has brought nearly 15,000 exhibitors and visitors from all continents. The exhibition which is Europe’s largest of its kind this year was staged for the 38th time.

Camp JOTA 2012 gathered scouts from Fagerstrand and 1 Nesodden Jaer, and radio amateurs from Oslo Group of NRRL to a radioactive weekend where scouts from around the world could talk together using amateur radio.

This year Oslo Group of NRRL cooperated with the Norwegian Maritime Museum and Norwegian Radio Historical Association. Because we did use the Norwegian Maritime Museum’s area at Bygdøynes we chose a more public-oriented Field Day than we’ve had arranged in recent years.

The first weekend of June has been a radioactive weekend. Radio amateurs from the Oslo group “occupied” the radio cabin at Morokulien.

Today I have passed QSO number 1000, which is entered in my log. QSO number 1000 was with DL6XAZ on PSK31.

The purpose of the Radio Day’s Field Day is to promote recruitment of new radio amateurs and to strengthen the cooperation between Norwegian radio amateurs. This year, the Oslo group had its Field Day at Bygdøy Sjøbad.
